Job Description

This Business Analyst position requires a blend of business and technology skills in a financial environment. The incumbent must have a strong financial markets background coupled with technology exposure. This position focuses on analyzing and documenting business requirements for new functionality and enhancements required in CFS applications.
Requirements will typically be provided by the internal operations teams, Client Integration team or external clients. Specifications will be written for internal review and ultimately for use by the developers in delivering the desired functionality.

Job Requirements

A minimum of 3 years experience in the financial services industry or as a consultant to the financial services industry is essential. Hedge fund experience is extremely desirable. In addition to 2 years in a technology role is desirable.
Experience in an operational role is highly desirable.
Must possess excellent oral and written communications skills.
 A business or computer science Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution is desired.
Candidates must have demonstrated ability to work with external clients, vendors and brokers as well as developing good working relationships with each of these groups.
Candidates must have demonstrated ability to perform business analysis and write business specifications on trading and accounting applications.
Candidates must have the ability to work on business process reengineering, IT strategy and planning with leading portfolio management systems, hedge funds, prime brokerage, portfolio administration, or fund to fund businesses is essential.
Candidates must understand a wide range of financial products and it would be desirable if they understand strategies that a hedge fund might use. Working knowledge of trading, risk and processing characteristics of equity, fixed income and OTC products.
Candidates must have strong knowledge of the financial services industry, its products and practices, and a strong interest in further development and learning.
Experience in either middle office or back office operations for a financial services organization is desirable.
Candidate must have a strong understanding of the development lifecycle and have the ability to communicate effectively with developers, technical users and non-technical users.
Candidates must have experience in work flow analysis, process definition and project lifecycle methodologies.
Candidates must have an affinity with Information Technology, technology knowledge and a willingness to learn.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. SQL or VBA experience beneficial.
Translate customer feedback into product features and enhancements.
Work closely with key customers in implementing our solutions.
Assist with designs reviews for content and usability.
Identify, document, and drive closure on business requirements related to client requested customizations.
Work closely with developers to ensure that the requirements are understood and that the designs support the requirements.   
Support system testing and beta programs.
